LIMA, Ohio – Elysha Stapleton was among the signees recently introduced on the campus of the University of Northwestern Ohio. Stapleton, a Mechanicsburg High School standout, will join a Racer program that began softball in the spring of 2014 and competes in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference.
Stapleton is an All-State Honorable Mention, all conference and First Team Dayton Metro selection. She hit .448 as a junior with 26 RBIs while posting 13 wins in the circle. She is a daughter of Steve and Alise Stapleton and plans to major in sports administration.
UNOH head coach Tracy Coffman believes Stapleton brings a diverse set of skills and athleticism that will allow her to be an important part in the program’s growth from all parts of the field.
“Elysha is a very strong, versatile ball player. Her upside as an athlete is incredible with her ability to pitch, hit for power and play either corner,” Coffman said. “We are very excited for what she brings to the program and to see her development and growth in our program.”
Also joining Stapleton as signees are Lauren Massolini, Maddie Meyers, Alexa Perry, and Kirsten Wharmby.
